How to check HugePages configuration in Linux
Check HugePages allocation and use from /proc/meminfo and sysctl, the memory setting that matters for an Oracle Database SGA.
Check HugePages: how many are configured, free, and in use. HugePages back large shared memory segments (such as an Oracle SGA) efficiently and are never swapped.
# HugePages counters from meminfo
grep -i huge /proc/meminfo
# Configured count and the page size
cat /proc/sys/vm/nr_hugepages
getconf PAGESIZE
# Transparent HugePages state (often disabled for databases)
cat /sys/kernel/mm/transparent_hugepage/enabledLinuxHugePagesOracle
